Yes, absolutely! You don’t need much space to give that busy snooter something to do. A simple search in one room can be a lovely way to work your dog’s brain.

Gentle sniffy games can suit puppies and older dogs too, with the setup kept comfortable and easy to reach. If your dog is on vet-prescribed rest, check which activities are suitable before introducing a game.

Yes! Scentwork is for dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages. You don’t need a working breed or an experienced sniffer dog to give it a go.

We specialise in teaching pet dogs, and we’ve shaped our equipment range with different snooters, sizes and experience levels in mind. Start with a simple game and build at your dog’s pace. There’s nosejoy to be found whether they’re little, leggy or taking life a bit more gently.

A target odour simply means the “smell” we teach our dogs to find.

Common target odours used in UK scentwork include red KONG® material, Napier Gun Oil, and essential oils such as clove, sweet birch and anise. You’ll find all of these at The Sniffer Shop.

If you’re joining a class or following a course, check which odour they use before choosing your kit.

Scentwork gives your dog’s brain something absorbing to do, but tiring them out isn’t the goal. We want to give them an enjoyable, grounding experience that lets them use their natural talents.

Following a scent and solving the puzzle can be deeply satisfying. That sense of fulfilment can help your dog relax afterwards.

Keep searches short and fun,just a few minnites to start with. Build plenty time to rest between sessions. Think happy and fulfilled, rather than worn out.
