This compact kit gives you the equipment you need to introduce scentwork, build the foundations of search and indication, and start having fun with your dog’s brilliant nose.

Choice of kit options:

Blank Kit / No Odour
Includes a 15ml magnetic blank tin, 45ml glass soak jar with screw lid, cotton filters, forceps in a tube, and a pair of gloves. Ideal if you already have your own chosen odour or want to prepare your own scent articles.

Gun Oil Kit
Includes 35m Gun Oil (contained in an addtional heat sealed bag )  an odour widely used by UK scentwork organisations, plus cotton filters, forceps in a tube, a pair of gloves, and a 45ml glass jar with screw lid for storing your scented articles.

Red Kong Kit
Includes:

1 small 1cm piece of Red Kong, designed to fit inside the 15ml aluminium tin

1 larger 2cm piece of Red Kong, ideal for placing directly into your pot

Please note: the glass soak jar and cotton filters are not included with the Red Kong option.

Made for scentwork, not chewing. Please supervise your dog at all times.

We deliver to all parts of the United Kingdom and also ship internationally. Please see the International Shipping section below for further details.

Dispatch Times

Many of our products are made and assembled in our UK workshop, either in small batches or to order. This allows us to focus on quality, thoughtful design, and durability.

  • Most orders are despatched within 2–3 working days
  • Some handmade or workshop-intensive items may take longer to prepare
  • Where this applies, estimated lead times are stated on the product description

During busy periods, dispatch times may be slightly longer.

If you need an item by a specific date or urgently, please email us before ordering and we'll let you know what's realistically possible.

UK Delivery

We offer a flat-rate delivery service across the UK. Parcels are normally sent using Royal Mail and Parcelforce tracked services, selected according to the size and nature of the items. Other couriers may be used where required.

Delivery costs

  • Small packages (up to 0.5kg): £3.99
  • Medium parcels (over 0.5kg, up to 5kg): £4.99
  • Large parcels (over 5kg): £6.50

Standard delivery is typically 2–4 working days from dispatch, using 48-hour Tracked Royal Mail or Parcelforce for larger items.

Please note that deliveries to certain postcodes — including Northern Ireland, Ireland, the Highlands, and islands — may take longer than mainland UK deliveries.

Tracking & Delivery Updates

Once your order has been dispatched, tracking updates are sent to you by email — please keep an eye on your inbox. Occasionally, tracking information may not update in real time; this does not affect the delivery itself and usually resolves on its own.

Returns

If you wish to return an item purchased from The Sniffer Shop, goods must be unused and returned in their original packaging. Scentwork containers must not have contained any odour.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you may cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your items.

If an item is faulty or damaged, please email us with details and a photo of your parcel or items as soon as possible so we can resolve the issue. This does not affect your statutory rights.

International Shipping

We offer international shipping to selected countries. If your country is not currently listed, please email us and we'll do our best to provide a quote.

  • International shipping is charged at a flat rate for most orders
  • Heavier or specialist items may require a different courier or incur additional costs
  • Any additional charges will be confirmed before dispatch

Please note that customs duties or taxes may apply in the destination country and are the responsibility of the recipient.
