Welcome to The Sniffer Shop! We're Kate and Marcus Hart, the duo behind the brand. Nestled in the beautiful rural heart of South Gloucestershire, near Bristol, we share our lives with six lively Labradors (yes, six!), a rescue cat named Ollie, and a delightful flock of chickens and ducks.

Our journey began several years ago when we founded My Hart Dog, blending our love of dogs with a passion for training and craftsmanship. Over the years we've fostered around 20 rescue dogs, a few of whom have stayed on as permanent members of the family. Alongside this, I've dedicated much of my time to training our own dogs, with a particular focus on gundog work and scentwork.

I'm an accredited dog trainer with the IMDT, and the last year has been quite a ride: in 2025 I was named ASA Scentwork Instructor of the Year for the South West, The Sniffer Shop won the PIF Best New Business award, and a Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday (#SBS) award followed in February 2026. I absolutely love sharing the fascinating world of scent detection with other dog owners, helping them and their canine companions build skills, confidence, and a special bond.

In the early days of teaching, I often struggled to find reliable, high-quality scentwork equipment for my classes. So Marcus and I started making our own. What began with a few vented tins has grown into a collection of over 50 specialised products, most of them designed and crafted in-house in our workshop, right down to our own registered designs. Wherever possible we source our materials from UK suppliers, ensuring quality and supporting local businesses.

The Sniffer Shop is the result of our combined expertise, passion, and hands-on experience, tested daily by the six most demanding product reviewers in Gloucestershire. Whether you're just starting your scentwork journey or looking for professional-grade tools, we're here to help, with products designed for both handlers and their canine detectives.
